Ali’s Class Information and Policies
CHOOSING A CLASS
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to group children according to their age and stage of development. If you are unsure which class is best, please ask Ali for more information about the activities.
Parents or carers are welcome to attend an taster class before enrolling for a term or half term. This gives you a chance to see what a class involves, before committing. Please contact Ali to book your taster class.
REGISTERING, CDs and HOME RESOURCES
You are welcome to join a class at any point during the term, subject to availability. However, it is advisable to book early as the class sizes are small and may fill quickly. You can join half termly or termly. We believe children benefit from continuity and repetition, so it is advisable to book for a term where possible. We do a new theme each half term, accompanied by a CD with class music and access to Online @Home Resources (where you can also download the music). These are an integral part of each course and included in your class fees. The CDs and @Home Resources are high quality and are designed to support your child’s musical learning experience both in class and at home.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
Refunds may only be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class, such as serious illness, not for family holidays or minor illness. If you miss a class, you can make up the class on another day, as long as there is availability, or invite a friend to take your place. Please contact Ali to arrange this.
If classes are cancelled due to teacher illness or extreme bad weather, you will be notified via email, facebook, or text, and classes will be rescheduled where possible.
Younger babies are welcome to come to any of my Sing and Play or Wiggle and Grow classes free of charge. This is normally no problem as babies love watching all the activities!
MAKING THE MOST OF CLASSES
Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early for class. This allows time for the children to settle in.
Please leave juice cups, snacks and any other distractions out of sight prior to class. Your child’s drinks or snacks could be distracting for other children.
Dress comfortably. Show respect for others at all times. The most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active role model in class. Most children take a while to get used to new situations, so don’t be discouraged if they are shy at first. Your patience and understanding is the key to helping them feel comfortable.
Please do make active use of the Online @Home Materials. This will make a difference to your child’s enjoyment of music both inside and outside the class situation. These resources are put together by experts in both music and child development and can really enhance your child’s experience.
